"Fear is the absence of remembering
your connection to source!"

Current Occupation: Living Life
Years of Experience: Forty Five
My job is to invite people to heal, to
feel good about themselves, and to live
their lives to the fullest. When it comes
right down to it, everyone’s job is to live life.
Everyone’s job is about walking their unique
path and accomplishing their life’s purpose.
In our culture, there’s a lot of confusion
between what a person does and who that person
really is. We are taught that a person is what they
do. So this means any person who happens to be
a heart surgeon is given great respect and
importance. On the flip side, any person who
happens to be a convenience store clerk is not
given much respect or importance.
When introducing themselves, adults don’t ask
each other what their favorite color is or if they
like the smell of wet grass in the spring. Instead
they ask, “what do you do?” and then make all
kinds of quick judgments based on the answer to
that one question.
We are also taught to define and value and
make judgments about ourselves by what we do.
Whoa! If your goal is to give your power away to
others, this is a great way to do it. (By the way,
this way of thinking also lets us hide behind what
we do so people won’t find out who we really are.)
But we are not what we do! We are not our
job or our career or our title. It is no more an
assessment of who we are than a jacket you slip
on or off. We are a collection of our life experiences,
feelings, emotions, beliefs, and ways of thinking.
What we do is merely one tiny aspect of who we
really are. For those who desire a more traditional
description of who I am, here it is:
(1999-Present) President and co-owner

Let's see, what else is needed for a
resume? Oh yeah — I was born on June 2,
1964 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I lived in
Chicago, Illinois until I was eight years old and
then moved to Dubuque, Iowa. There I graduated
in 1982 from Wahlert High School. I graduated
from American Institute of Business (Des Moines,
Iowa) in 1984 with an associate's degree in
accounting and computer programming.I've
completed various classes from Drake University
(Des Moines, IA), and have the Fellow Life
Management Institute Designation in life insurance.
I love traveling and meeting people. For ten
years in a row I participated in RAGBRAI, the
annual bicycle ride across Iowa. My favorite color
is purple, and I absolutely adore the smell of
wet grass in the spring.
Several years ago I lost a very
small, precious gift.
This loss transformed my life.
On August 5, 1994, I gave birth to identical
twin girls, Julia and Amy. They were born 3½ months
prematurely. For babies born this soon, the chances
of their surviving and growing up strong and healthy
are slim.
Amy didn't make it. She fought for nine
courageous days before physically dying. Spiritually,
I've learned and continue to learn amazing things
from this little girl. I embrace her painful lessons
that have taught me how to live with passion. It is
true that in learning how to die, we learn how to live.
Julia's story was different. My husband, myself,
and our two sons lived through some very dark
times urgently caring for her, tearfully worrying
about her, and hoping against hope that she'd
make it. Well, she did, and we are eternally grateful
for this. She's our little miracle baby. Julia is
now a happy, healthy girl with her whole life ahead
of her.
There isn't a college course, a certification,
or a training program that could have taught me
what I learned about myself and life. No text book,
no college degree, no amount of titles before or
after my name can substitute for this experience
with my daughters. This experience has given me
the training and the insight needed to invite
people to heal, to feel good about themselves, and
to live their lives to the fullest.
