Love is Present No Matter What

The world is tumultuous and there are any number of dark issues that are coming up to be healed. Welcoming the pain is one of the most loving things you can do, because running from it, denying it or making it wrong only delays the healing process in supporting you in releasing blocks to love.

It can be an enormous relief to remember that love is present no matter what you are experiencing. Love is in every relationship whether you are experiencing connection or heart break. Love is present whether you feel your world is falling apart or coming together. Love is present in tragedy and triumph. Love is present whether you are feeling agitated, bitter, angry, hurt and rejected or if you are feeling aligned in the flow of life and all it offers. Beyond your thoughts, feelings and actions, love is always here. No matter what you or others have done, or have failed to do, love is present. Love is always present whether you are aware of it or not.

When I first learned this, my life changed. I no longer held onto stories of “good” or “bad”. I felt the grip of defining myself by what I had experienced in my life slipping away. For myself, one example was realizing that being sexually abused at 10 years old, did NOT define who I am or whether or not I could feel safe in the world. In order to get to freedom, I needed to go back and revisit conclusions I had come to about myself that were never true, and to release the held emotional charges holding me back that I didn’t even know were there. On the other side of this courageous exploration, there was peace and freedom that I previously didn’t know existed.

Love is the greatest tool in supporting you in bringing light to the dark and to transform your life as you release layers of emotional clutter and align with your true nature. Your true nature is love.

As you start to fully embrace the love that you are, you may see how often you have focused on giving to others while not giving yourself the time, support or attention YOU desperately needed. Moving into balance means you extend loving kindness to yourself, as much as you extend loving kindness to others. At times, focusing on love of self exclusively may be necessary, at other times you may feel that you need to focus on others, and that’s more than okay. Through intimately loving yourself, and knowing what you need and hunger for and making time and space to give yourself just that, you will step into your ability to be intimate with others. Being intimate with others is only possible once you have learned to be intimate with yourself.

No matter what you are experiencing in your life, you deserve more love, not less. No matter what others are experiencing in their lives, they deserve more love, not less. If your thoughts or actions are hurtful to yourself or to others, transformation comes through loving more. If others’ thoughts or actions are hurtful, transformation comes through loving more. Love is strong. Love is not the same as burying truth and pretending abuse didn’t happen. Love makes infinite space for truth and opens to forgiveness of self and others leaving a strong foundation of knowing what you need and who you are.

You may realize that while others were not, or are not, able to love you the way you want them to, it is not their job to be somewhere they are not. Ultimately, it is YOUR job to know how lovable you are. No matter what has happened in your past or what is happening to you now, YOU ARE WORTHY of Love. Love takes us back to ourselves and in awareness, we can actively say “Yes,” to love as a way of life, whether others around us are choosing love in any given moment or not.

When you focus on bringing love into places of pain and struggle in your life, everything changes in the best way possible. If it is helpful, consider the pain you are experiencing as if you are sharing love with a wounded child. No need to scold or blame the child for being hurt, as that is destructive and not helpful. Instead, open your heart to the pain you are experiencing and love more. The pain is transformed through patience, acceptance and love.
